I can’t believe James is ONE already! Time flies so fast. I was ecstatic to have James back in the studio to celebrate his birthday with a cake smash. I actually photographed his newborn session a year ago, so it was great to see this little guy again. Much like his newborn session, his mother requested a neutral cake smash. I love how classic this setup turned out. I tend to create very colorful and bright setups for my clients, so being able to stretch my creativity in a different way was a lot of fun for me.

James came in the most adorable little outfit. I love those blue striped pants!! His outfit was the perfect match for my new little gray couch. I was so happy to be able to bust it out for this session! It’s going to be a great prop to use in the studio for upcoming sessions!! After the more traditional milestone portraits, it was time for the actual cake smash! James seemed to really like the cake we had for him. I love waiting to see the babies and their reactions to cake!!

Once James was done enjoying the cake, we got him into my little bathtub! James absolutely had a blast in the tub. Most babies do!! I’m so, so thrilled to be able to start offering this bathtub add-on to cake smash sessions. The bathtub is the perfect way to end cake smashes! It always brings out lots of giggles and smiles. We had a great time watching James play in the tub with the little rubber duck! Such a wonderful way to end his neutral cake smash session.  Happy birthday, James!!!
